Monero miners, update your miners to the latest versions ahead of the fork on 18th of October. The latest fork by Monero is set to make the hit on the 18th of October. If you fail to update your miner prior to then, your rig will stop mining. The fork hits at block 1685555 which is expected to be on the 18th of October however may come slightly earlier. Be sure to update immediately to avoid any inconvenience.

The purpose behind the fork is to solidify Moneros stance on being ASIC mining resistant. This is great news for GPU miners. If this fork is anything like Moneros last fork, which saw a drop in difficulty expect good return on mining in the coming days after the fork.

If you are running XMR-Stak as a mining client, you can download the latest version now available at https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stak/releases

The latest release of XMR-Stak V2.5.0 contains the following changes.

Xmr-stak supports all CUDA devices form the last 8 years (Fermi, Kepler, Maxwell, Pascal, Volta, Turing).
You can now use with AMD Rocm 1.9.X.
